A full interior project by Laings has been featured on BBC Scotland’s Scotland’s Home of the Year, showcasing the Aberdeenshire home of Laings Creative Director, Mark Strachan.
The property, renovated over a number of years by Mark and his husband, reflects a carefully considered approach to contemporary living, with every interior space designed to work cohesively through material consistency, tailored layouts and refined detailing. The renovation journey has also been documented via Instagram at @homewiththemarks, offering further insight into the design development of the project.
The home features a complete Laings-designed interior scheme, with bespoke kitchen, bathroom and bedroom spaces created as part of a fully integrated approach to interior design. Throughout the property, the focus remained on quality craftsmanship, timeless materials and design continuity across every room.
At the heart of the home is a bespoke Laings kitchen, designed to combine functionality with architectural balance and clean, contemporary detailing. The open-plan layout connects seamlessly with the adjoining dining and living spaces, creating a unified interior environment designed for modern living. Natural textures, tailored cabinetry and carefully selected finishes reinforce the premium quality and craftsmanship synonymous with Laings design.
The wider interior scheme continues this same considered design approach. The bathroom combines soft grey tones with blush accents and polished bronze fittings, introducing warmth and texture through layered materials and subtle detailing. In contrast, the principal bedroom suite adopts a monochromatic palette inspired by the understated elegance of a contemporary hotel interior, with bespoke furniture, textured finishes and a calm, tailored aesthetic throughout.
Together, the spaces demonstrate Laings’ holistic approach to interiors, where kitchen, bathroom and bedroom design are developed collectively to create a seamless and highly resolved home environment.
Speaking about the project, Mark said:
“It was a great opportunity to see a full Laings interior project featured on screen. The programme highlighted how our kitchen, bathroom and bedroom designs work together as part of one cohesive scheme, with a strong emphasis on quality materials, tailored layouts and considered detailing throughout the home.”
The feature offered viewers an insight into Laings’ integrated approach to interior design and showcased how thoughtful planning and carefully selected materials can create spaces that are both functional and timeless.
