Some of the Laings team travelled to Germany earlier this month to visit our luxury German kitchen manufacturer and get a first glimpse of the 2017 collection ahead of its launch!

Principal Development Designer, Mark Strachan, and our Kitchens Retail department, led by Senior Designer & Supervisor Suzanne McNeil, spent their visit exploring the latest styles to join our contemporary kitchens range, some of which are soon to be installed in our showroom.

"Visiting our suppliers always proves inspiring and this year's visit to our luxury German kitchen manufacturer was particularly special. Kitchen design has reached new creative heights and there is such an array of products to choose from that customers can truly achieve a kitchen that is unique to them and their requirements. It really is a case of anything goes!"

Many of the key trends for 2017 are developments on the styles which emerged over the past 12 to 18 months. Textural contrast will continue to underpin contemporary design in 2017, with doors inspired by materials as diverse as concrete and rustic wood.

Metallics have transcended brassware and are now firmly a part of the fabric of the kitchen. A standout style from the range, the new metallic lacquer fronts; available in gold, bronze and titanium lacquer, offer a textural metallic finish which is sure to make a truly unique statement in any kitchen.

Grey remains the core base note of the colour palette with whites, creams and taupes also taking centre stage. Wooden finishes come in every shade, while the biggest pop of colour arrives in the form of deep Velvet Blue, which looks particularly strong on the classic, painted Bristol door.

"It was a thoroughly enjoyable visit for the whole team and we can't wait to share our new ideas with our clients. We have a number of new displays being installed over the next couple of months, several of which feature products from the latest collection, so look out for announcements across our social media pages and plan a visit to us soon!"
